We just purchased a home in Costa Mesa with a "spool" (spa/pool). We've never owned a pool or a spa, so not only were we informed that the chemicals weren't right, but also we had no idea how to even turn the spool on. Pool Service FAQs for Orange County Homeowners

Weekly pool service and maintenance, pool cleaning (weekly or one-time), filter cleaning, green pool cleanup and commercial pool cleaning. We stick to cleaning and water care. If we spot a problem with your pump, heater or plumbing, we’ll tell you what we saw so you can call the right equipment contractor.

Orange, Villa Park, Tustin, North Tustin, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Fullerton, Brea and La Habra. If you’re just outside those cities, ask anyway, and we’ll tell you honestly whether you’re close enough to a route.

On every visit we net the surface, empty the skimmer basket and check and balance the water. On the Crystal and Paradise plans we also vacuum as needed. You get a digital water analysis every month and a report on your chemical levels every week. Refresh leaves out vacuuming because it’s built for pools that have an automatic cleaner.

Weekly, for most pools in Orange County. Summer sun burns through chlorine fast, and once it runs out, algae can take hold within a few days. Stretching visits to every other week is a gamble from June through September.

It depends on the plan and how many chemicals your pool goes through. Refresh suits owners who buy their own chemicals in bulk. Paradise includes the most chemicals at a fixed price, so a heavy-use or salt pool doesn’t bring surprise charges. Compare them on our pool service plans page, or send us a few details for a free quote.

On Refresh, mostly yes. The plan includes 1 gallon of liquid chlorine, 1 gallon of muriatic acid and unlimited sodium bicarbonate, and you buy the rest. Crystal and Paradise include set amounts of the common chemicals. Chlorine tablets aren’t included on any plan.

A clogged filter can’t catch fine dirt, so the water turns dull and the pump strains against the pressure. Cleaning it a couple of times a year keeps the water clear and takes load off the pump. Paradise includes one filter cleaning per calendar year; on the other plans it’s an add-on.

Yes, green pool cleanup is one of our services. How long it takes depends on how far the algae got. A pool that’s just turning green clears much faster than one that’s dark and swampy.

Yes. A salt pool still needs weekly testing, and the salt cell scales up with calcium over time, faster with Orange County’s hard water. Salt cell cleaning is a seasonal add-on, and Paradise includes one cleaning per calendar year plus 16 bags of pool salt.
